CAPE TOWN – The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is saddened by the passing of Durban City player Sinamandla Zondi last night.
Affectionately known as Sgora, Zondi was due to feature in the ABC Motsepe Championship fixture against Milford United at Chatsworth Stadium on Tuesday.
“According to the information provided to the league, shortly before the match began, Sinamandla collapsed and was immediately attended to by medical personnel on site,” said PSL statement.
“Given the seriousness of his condition, he was rushed to Chatsmed Garden Hospital, said he passed away at the hospital shortly before 20h00.”
The match was then suspended with immediate effect.
