Durban – The countdown to South Africa’s most anticipated sporting and social event is on!
The Hollywoodbets Durban July (HDJ) has officially unveiled its 2025 theme, ‘Marvels of Mzansi,’ in a vibrant celebration of the nation’s rich culture, heritage, and extraordinary achievements.
This announcement came during an exclusive launch event at Hollywoodbets Greyville, attended by celebrities, fashion experts, racing enthusiasts, and media.
As the proud title sponsor, Hollywoodbets has redefined the HDJ over the years, transforming it into more than just a race.
It’s a celebration of South Africa’s diversity and resilience. The 2025 theme, ‘Marvels of Mzansi,’ invites attendees to pay tribute to the nation’s achievements and cultural splendor.
From unforgettable sporting moments like the 1995 Rugby World Cup, when Francois Pienaar held the trophy as Nelson Mandela cheered from the stands, to Bafana Bafana’s AFCON win and Siya Kolisi’s back-to-back Rugby World Cup victories, South Africa has a legacy of triumph.
These events have united the nation, and the Hollywoodbets Durban July embodies that same spirit of national pride.

The HDJ is a major contributor to KwaZulu-Natal’s economy, drawing tens of thousands of attendees each year.
Last year, it welcomed nearly 40,000 guests and generated a whopping R717 million for the local economy, cementing its position as a key tourism and economic driver.
This year’s theme promises to amplify that impact, celebrating the province’s vibrancy while spotlighting South Africa’s incredible diversity.

The unveiling also included a call to action for South Africa’s fashion designers, urging them to draw inspiration from the *‘Marvels of Mzansi’* theme for their creations.
As always, fashion will play a central role in the HDJ experience, with local talent showcasing their artistry on the prestigious event’s stage.
With the race set for Saturday, 5 July 2025 at Hollywoodbets Greyville, excitement is already building.
