The Cape Town leg of the SPAR Women’s Challenge, part of the SPAR Grand Prix series, has officially sold out.
Set to take place on Sunday, 30 March, in Greenpoint, the event will feature a 10km race and a 5km Fun Run along the scenic Atlantic Seaboard.
The race is capped at 16,000 participants, with this year’s theme, #Twenty20Thrive, encouraging women to push themselves to thrive in every aspect of their lives.
This race marks the opening event of the prestigious SPAR Grand Prix 10km series, attracting top female athletes from South Africa and beyond. Local runners and walkers from Cape Town and surrounding areas will take part, making their way through the city’s breathtaking coastal route.

Race packs will be available for collection at selected Sportsman’s Warehouse stores on 28 and 29 March. Participants are advised to use public transport to avoid congestion in the Greenpoint area. Parking will be available at the Civic Centre, with free parking and shuttle buses running to the start line.
The race will be officially started by Cape Town’s Mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis, at 7:00 am, followed by the 10km walk at 7:15 am and the 5km Fun Run at 7:40 am. The event is expected to draw large crowds, with batch starts for all distances.
This year, SPAR will continue its commitment to supporting local communities through charitable initiatives. The SPAR Petals project will donate sanitary pads to organizations like Against Period Poverty, while the Saartjie Baartman Centre and Nonceba will benefit from the company’s End GBV campaign.
Entertainment will be provided by popular rapper Snotkop, and participants will have the chance to win exciting prizes, including R30,000 in SPAR vouchers and a brand-new Hyundai Exter, valued at R245,000.
